HVAC Installation Process & Timeline

Most residential HVAC replacements are completed in 1–2 days. Here's the process:

1

Load Calculation & Assessment

1 day

We perform a Manual J load calculation to properly size your new system for your home's square footage and Florida's climate.

2

System Selection & Permitting

1–3 days

Choose your Rheem system based on efficiency (SEER2) rating, and we file the required mechanical permit.

3

Removal & Disposal

Half day

Your old condenser, air handler, and refrigerant are safely removed and properly disposed of per EPA regulations.

4

New System Installation

1 day

New condenser, air handler, and refrigerant lines are installed. Ductwork is inspected and repaired as needed.

5

Electrical & Thermostat

Included

Electrical connections are made, and a new programmable or smart thermostat is installed and configured.

6

Startup, Testing & Inspection

Half day

System is charged, tested for proper airflow and refrigerant levels, and a municipal inspection is scheduled.

Materials

Materials & Brands We Use

We install systems from manufacturers known for reliability in Florida's demanding climate:

Rheem

Our primary brand — proven performance in high-humidity environments with excellent warranty coverage and parts availability.

Nest & Ecobee

Smart thermostats that optimize cooling schedules, saving energy during Florida's long cooling season.

Navien & Rheem Tankless

High-efficiency tankless water heaters that provide endless hot water while saving space and energy.

Daikin Mini-Splits

Ductless systems for room additions, garages, or homes without existing ductwork — perfect for Florida's diverse housing stock.

Code & Permits

Florida Building Code & Permits

HVAC replacement in Florida is regulated to ensure safety and energy efficiency:

  • A mechanical permit is required for all HVAC system replacements — we file this with your local building department.
  • New systems must meet Florida Building Code minimum SEER2 efficiency ratings (currently 14.3 SEER2 for the Southeast region).
  • Proper system sizing per ACCA Manual J is required — oversized systems cause humidity and comfort issues in Florida.
  • Refrigerant recovery and disposal must follow EPA Section 608 regulations — our technicians are certified.
  • A municipal inspection is required after installation before the permit can be closed.
Warranty

Warranty Coverage

Your new HVAC system is protected by:

  • 10-year manufacturer parts warranty on Rheem systems (with product registration).
  • 1–2 year labor warranty on installation.
  • Optional extended warranties available for complete system coverage.
  • Manufacturer warranty on thermostat and accessories (varies by brand).
